Colt 1911 chambered in .38 Super. This pistol is a very interesting transition version that combines features of the pre-1947 Super .38’s and the post 1948 Super .38’s!
Serial numbered as a 1947 this pistol has the pre ’47 checkered hammer and a checkered safety with a post ’48 grooved trigger and a grooved slide release AND Coltwood grips along with the ramp style front sight.
Very fine original condition but I will only call the condition 95% because of some hard-to-see, but there, surface rust on the slide.
