Description:
***   SOLD   ***   German craftsmanship at its best!  This handsome and great handling game gun is perfect for game or clays and is in excellent mechanical condition. Back action barlock sidelock with long steel barrels, well executed game scene engraving, and nicely figured European walnut stock and forearm mark this double as a top quality gun. The left sidelock engraving depicts rabbits in a forest scene. The right sidelock is of waterfowl in a marsh. Double triggers, extractors, and manual safety. Weighs 6lb 6oz.   ***   The 29-1/2” nitro steel barrels are chambered for 2-3/4” shotshells. They are topped by a raised solid concave crosshatched rib. The rib is inscribed “Wilh. Weissgerber  St. Wendel”. Bores are shiny and the bluing is in very good condition. The right barrel is bored 0.665 with a constriction of 0.006 for Improved Cylinder choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.031. The left barrel is bored 0.630 and has a constriction of 0.015 for Modified choke. Minimum wall thickness is 0.030.   ***   The pistol grip stock and splinter forearm are made of nicely figured European walnut. The checkering is in good condition but there are a few handling marks on the stock from normal usage. The pistol grip has a horn cap. The stock dimensions are 14-5/8” by 1-7/16” by 2-3/8”. Cast on for the lefthanded shot but could easily and inexpensively be bent over for a righthanded shot.   ***   Handsome and nice handling example of Teutonic craftsmanship. High quality engraving marks this gun as something special. You will be proud to uncase it at the range or carry if for a day afield.   ***   Please note that photographs are part of the description. Buyer is responsible for all shipping, insurance, and any other related charges. I give a 3-day non-firing inspection period which begins when the item is delivered to your FFL dealer or to a shipping address designated by the purchaser in the case of a gun classified as an Antique.
