Description:
Beautiful custom 30-06 by master gunmaker R.G.Owen. Built in 1928 for VL&D customer David Bruce, this rifle is in outstanding all original condition. It is built on a Springfield 1903 action. Features include a quarter rib with one standing 2 folding express sights,a trapdoor grip cap,trapdoor buttplate,drop floorplate,Lyman rear peep sight and Lyman target front sight,engraved bolt handle,and outstanding walnut stock with fine 28 line checkering. Owen was the premier custom rifle builder in the 1920s and 30s. He was a true pioneer in custom rifles and one of the finest craftmen of his era. This rifle is fully documented by a Griffiin and Howe letter and a copy of the VL&D ledger. C&R eliglble.
