Description:
SAKO M/39, chambered in 7.62X54R. The M39 was the final upgrade of bolt action rifles that the Finnish made in World War II to make use of all the Russian mosins that they had. This particular rifle is in decent shape for its age. The rifle is shorter than a traditional mosin, has a pistol grip, thicker stock, and adjustable rear sight. On the top of the receiver you can see a proof mark followed by a boxed SA that stands for Suomen Armeija (Finnish Army). Below that is the SAKO Gear with S inside it and the manufacture fate of 1943. Below the date is a divet in the receiver which is where the original Russian eagle would have been but the Finnish removed them. Proof marks and the serial number are on the left side of the receiver. Both the bolt and bottom of the magazine are different serial numbers. You can see faintly, on the right side of the stock, the SAKO Gear with S inside, but it has been varnished. Lastly, on the barrel end, we see M39 Finland 7.62X54R and the importer CAI. 7.62x54R
