Description:
S O L D ......GWYN & CAMPBELL .... CIVIL WAR CARBINE....LAYAWAY?..... IN HAND NOW.....Scarce Civil War carbine, that you rarely
come across. In good used condition. Since I do not have it in hand currently, there's not a lot I can say about it.
Also known as the "Union", "Grapevine," and "Monkeytail" carbine, the Gwyn & Campbell was made in Hamilton, Ohio.  About 8,200 were manufactured from 1863 to 1864.
This .52 caliber percussion breechloader had a 20 inch round barrel .  Cavalry regiments from Arkansas, Illinois, Kansas ,Tennessee, Ohio and Missouri received these arms from the thirteen US Ordnance department contracts issued.
If you are interested in purchasing this carbine, I will put you on a "list", and contact you, once it's in hand. I will call in order, and the first that agrees to purrchase it, will own it. In the photo, it appears that the fron sight is missing. I have listed the price, based on that information. These normall sell at $2600 and up. If you take the time and contact the multiple antigue gun parts dealers, youy can get
a replacement sight from $50-4100. I just don't have the time.....,2nd firearm ships FREE, with this one....S/H $55.....Thanks, Greg 119-124
