Description:
1878 Browning rifle. This 45-70 rifle is S/N 488 of the 600 or so manufactured by John Browning and brother Matthew around 1880. I purchased this gun years ago from a Browning family member. The overall condition of the rifle is very good. The wood and metal are both in above average condition for this model, and the rifle appears to be mechanically sound. The bore is above average as well, pitted, but with strong rifling. This is a nice example of the 1878. Insured shipping included.
