This wonderful old Colt comes with an equally wonderful story... Consigners ancestor was a former U.S. Army officer, who joined the Canadian Army in 1915 and took this pistol with him to France... As to this Colt, it is a Commercial Model, in fine used condition, with a frosty bore and about 40% finish loss, as one might expect to see in an officers side arm, after over two years of combat usage in the trenches of WW1....Note Crown Over V, British Proof Marks, on the barrel, slide and frame...Will be glad to answer questions and provide additional images...There is more to the soldiers story, which i will be glad to relate privately ...Ship to ffl or c&r...
