Here we have an honest workhorse of a pump shotgun - an Ithaca Model 37 16 gauge. The Ithaca Model 37 is a true American classic. It’s the lone survivor of the pre-World War II pump-action shotguns—the Winchester Model 12 and Model 97, and the Remington 31. What set the 37 apart was its action. The model 37 ejects empty shells at the bottom. Bottom ejection has several benefits: Empties are ejected at the shooter’s feet (and not at a buddy), the action is better protected from debris and bottom-ejecting guns work well for left-handed shooters. This particular example is in good overall condition. The finish has a few spots of light wear and some high edge wear. The 28 inch barrel has a good bore and is choked fixed modified. The front bead sight is missing but that wouldn't be hard to fix. The left side of the receiver has a waterfowl scene and on the right is an upland scene.
