very nice early K98 with some WAR History......
The CE 43 indicates manufactured in 1943 by JP Sauer arsenal in Germany.
They produced about 340,000 k98 Mausers in 1943.
It is definitely a Russian captured/rebuilt k98 that was originally built in 1943 by JP Sauer and saw service in battle in WW2 and then was captured by the Russians and re-arsenaled by them.
The rare or desirable features are the fact that the “ Waffenamps” ( Nazi Eagles) were not scrubbed and the original markings on the receiver are “ gothic font” which were more rare than the “ block font”.
