Payment Types Accepted: Description: On Hold Sale Pending This is a Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Army Rifle often Know to Collectors as a Model 1877 rifle with the scarce ESA in a oval with a 1878 dated cartouche. The gun seems to be correct including the correct rear sight with unslotted screws. The 32.5 inch barrel has a good bore with correct front and rear sights. The full 2 band walnut stock is in good condition with a correct oval 1878 dated cartouche. All metal parts have a blue, grey and brown patina. This trapdoor appears correct and complete with sling swivels and ramrod. The US Springfield marked lock functions fine and the breach block is tight.
