Cannon Barrel with Iron Pommel Cap
Here we present an antique European Flintlock Pocket/Holster Pistol, made circa the early 1800s. This pistol has a fairly small frame and a short, large-bore barrel. It would have been concealable in a jacket or attached to one’s belt and used for self-defense on the busy streets of London or Paris. The bore is .50 caliber.
The overall condition is very good. Strong action. Smooth, patinated bore. The stock is solid. There is a short, repaired split just forward of the lock. The ramrod is a replacement and is not removable.
