Description:
This Browning Auto 5 was made in Belgium during the 1954-55 period [serial number data] and purchased by me at Stanley Andrews Sporting Goods in San Diego, CA during April 1957. I purchased the shotgun while in H.S. with money saved from my paper route [really]. It has a 2 3/4 in. chamber. I used the gun for occasional dove hunting in San Diego County and then during the early 60s took it with me while in the Navy to shoot clay targets off the fantail of the U.S.S. Saratoga, between flight-ops- how times have changed. After Navy, I used it seldom while climbing the professional ladder. It has been stored in my save for the past 35 years. It is my understanding that the round stock knob indicates FN manufacturing- long tang configuration. It has the original FN horn butt plate. The stock and metal finishes are original. The barrel condition is flawless. The bluing is likewise flawless with beautiful FN early engraving. I give the bluing finish 100% and the walnut stocks 98% with minor use noticed.
PAYMENT OPTIONS: I accept USPS Money Orders and personal/business checks. Items paid with US Postal Money Orders will ship forthwith. Items paid with checks will ship when check clears. Usually within 10 days. Payment must be received within 10 days of purchase.
LAYAWAY: If needed I offer a 60 lay?a?way option. It is 1/3 immediately, 1/3 in 30 days and 1/3 in 60 days. Lay?a?way Firearm sales are final. If you fail to close the deal I will hold funds until the firearm is sold. If the firearm is sold for less, the difference will be deducted from the deposit plus 10% for my time, storage and taking the firearm off the market for your lay-a-way period.
SHIPPING: All firearms shipped Priority Mail with tracking. Shipping will be calculated to point of delivery.
LEGAL REQUIREMENT? Modern firearms must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer in Buyer’s area. Buyer must supply to Seller a copy of Buyer’s driver license and a copy of Buyer’s local FFL dealer’s license before shipment will be made. A C&R License is acceptable for C&R firearms. All handguns are shipped to an FFL.
SAFETY NOTICE? Buyer is solely responsible for determining that the firearm purchased is safe to shoot. By , the buyer agrees to hold seller harmless against damages, injury, or death caused by buyer’s failure to have the firearm properly inspected for safety.
RETURN POLICY- All firearms come with a 3-day return policy conditioned upon the firearm being kept by the FFL during inspection period and returned in exactly the condition mailed- not being fired, messed with in any way. If you take the firearm from the FFL or fire it it’s yours. In the case of a return, buyer pays all shipping charges. YOU HAVE A 3 DAY INSPECTION PERIOD FROM THE DATE OF DELIVERY TO FFL OR C&R DEALER. SELLER WILL NOT REFUND SHIPPING COSTS AND THERE IS A 10% RESTOCKING FEE DEDUCTED FROM REFUND. YOURIS A BINDING CONTRACT, AND THIS CONTRACT INCLUDES YOU AGREEING TO ALL OF THE ABOVE, THE RESTOCKING FEE AND NO REFUNDS FOR SHIPPING. THE FIREARM MUST REMAIN WITH THE FFL DURING THE INSPECTION PERIOD. IF YOU TAKE POSSESSION OR FIRE THE GUN, SALE IS FINAL.
