Description:
This is an original and scarce U.S. Civil War Ames model 1860 Cavalry Sword Dated 1864 in nice untouched condition. The sword is all original and complete. The sword has a fine blade and markings with nice edges. The sword is marked on one side “AMES MFG CO. and U.S./G.W.S./1864” on the other side. The original grip and wire are in excellent condition throughout. The brass guard and pommel are in fine untouched condition with a wonderful mellow color to them. The original scabbard is in very nice throughout with a nice even color and has a few small dents. This is a very nice example of a very scarce 1864 dated Ames U.S. Model 1860 Cavalry Sword.
