***SOLD, pending pmt.*** Beautiful, genuine, and rare Pre War 70 short rifle aka "Carbine" in the versatile and popular 30-06 caliber. S/N 15*** with matching scribed bolt made in 1938. The bluing is excellent showing 97% or better over most, other than the barrel which shows more wear due to some light use marks/scratches and a bit of wear at the sharp edge of the muzzle. Early frost blued extractor. 20" barrel with integral front sight ramp, no monkey business of a chopped and fabricated or fake barrel, this is the REAL deal with perfect ramp transitions, stippling, crown, etc.! The wood is also excellent with original lacquer showing only a few scattered impressions. There are NO cracks, gouges or discoloration anywhere. The beautiful polished carbonum blued receiver worn only by these earliest and finest rifles remains UNDRILLED, making this rifle particularly valuable and highly collectible. The bore and mechanics are superb and crisp as usual. This is a really nice and difficult to find rifle. Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska to your FFL is an additional $80.
