****** SOLD ******* This is a nice shotgun from a private collector.
12 Gauge (2 5/8), 32 inch nice decarbonized steel barrels with shootable bores choked modified and full. This is a Grade 1 Remington model 1889 break action, SxS shotgun featuring the low circular external hammers, and solid matte rib marked with "REMINGTON ARMS CO. / ILION. N.Y. U.S.A.". The gun is in overall good to very good condition with barrel retaining about 85-90% original blue finish thinning at the muzzle and just forward of the breech with scattered freckles, scratches and several tiny spots of surface pitting. The left barrel has a slight dent about 2" back from the muzzle and the right barrel has a slight dent about 8" back from the muzzle. The walnut stock and forearm are both shown in several pictures. Please look closely to see the obvious blemishes from years of use. The length of pull is 14 inches to a factory Remington buttplate. The gun locks up tight with crisp hammer and trigger pulls. Serial number 57XXX makes this a fairly early production gun. A great antique Remington 1889. Antique
