Description: This venerable semi-automatic shotgun is a Remington 1100 chambered in 20 Gauge (1965). It has a front bead sight on a ventilated rib barrel, a safety located at the rear of the trigger guard, and an original Remington butt plate. The Remington 1100 is a very versatile semi-automatic shotgun. It's a great choice for bird hunters and clay shooters, alike. The 1100 does best what it has done best since 1963: It's a gun that makes almost everyone who picks it up a better shooter. The soft-recoil is mainly due to its gas operated mechanism. The 1100 is well known to be reliable and a massively tough shotgun. The Remington 1100 is a descendant of the Model 58 and 878 shotguns. In fact, the 1100 set a record in 1978 for the most shells shot out of a semi-automatic shotgun, without any cleaning whatsoever and without any failures of any kind. That number is a staggering 24,000+ rounds. Although several companies have tried, nobody can best that to this day. This particular 1100 is in very fine condition, metal and furniture. 20 Gauge SOLD Chambers: 2¾ inch shells only Metal Condition: "Only minor insignificant bluing loss at muzzle, bluing on the rest of the metal is in immaculate condition Wood Condition: "Some observable light handling marks to the fore arm, some marks ahead of the pistol grip cap and some other marks to the stock proper.
