This M1 Garand is in great condition set up as a sniper rifle with an Israeli Nimrod Telescope 6x40. This M1 Garand has an 8 round internal magazine, that chambers .30 cal (30-06 Springfield) the metal is in good condition as well as the wood stock.The M1 Garand is a rifle chambered for the .30-06 round and was the first semi-automatic rifle to be generally issued to the infantry of any nation. It is the most popular American rifle during World War II. It is a valuable collector's item today.The M1 Garand is gas-operated, with a rotating bolt that has two locking lugs, and the gas tube is piston-actuated with a long stroke gas piston. It is not a selective-fire weapon, and will only produce a single shot with each pull of the trigger. The safety switch is located on the front of the trigger group; it places the weapon in safe when the switch is toggled to the rear (inside the trigger group), and unsafe the weapon when toggled forward (outside the trigger group).
