Description:
Webley & Scott Model 701 12 Gauge 2 3/4 Boxlock Ejector.  Barrel length 27 inches. Chokes: RT .009/IC, LT .040/FULL. LOP is 14 1/2 inches over a London Pad.  Weight is 6 LBS 2 3/8 OZ.  Automatic Safety.  Fine acanthus scroll engraving and carved fences.  Nicely figured stock with drop points.  Cased in a canvase and leather Brady case.  Overall conditon is very fine.  The stock finish is original with only a few handling marks. The action is tight on the face and retains 90%+ of case coloring. The barrel blue / black is very nice, with only small rubbed areas on the left barrel at the breach end and muzzle where it rubs the felt blocking in the case.  The Mode 701 was Webley & Scotts highest grade Boxlock. The engraving was finer, of a higher grade and covers more of the action.  This model had a higher grade of wood, drop points and a bolstered forend. I believe this gun was built in the early to mid 1960s.  A very solid and beautiful hand made and engraved English Boxlock shotgun!  $6750 + Shipping & Ins.
