Very fine and attractive pair of French percussion pistols made by Bonard, the gunsmith who made these pistols at St. Etienne. Bottom of barrels have St. Etienne proofs along with the letter ""B"" for Bonard. Barrels are beautiful Damascus and were made with ""star"" twist, and measure 10.25"" to breech plug. The pistols are made in the Empire style with the grip at a 90 degree agnle to the barrel. The pistols are tastefully engraved on all the various metal parts. The stocks are of a beautifully figured French Walnut. The checkering on the grips are perfect. The butt cap is floral engraved and the wood finishes in a perfectly carved roundel of intricate arches. The case has all of it's accessories (bullet mold, ramrod, mallet powder flask cap box, nipple wrench and a hidden compartment for two screw driver tips. Case is of French walnut and has a beautifulĀ burl walnut veneer. Interior lining is a very fine red velvet. A beautiful cased set!
