I have a nice example of a British Governmrnt issued BROWN BESS 3rd model tyoe 1 with the goose neck hammer circa 1793.The flintlock barrel is 39 " long in 75 cal. The barrel shows the Crown over G.R. proof over a second proof of a CROWN over crossed scepter . This indicates a Government issued arm.The lock shows a CROWN over G.R. for King George the Third the reigning Monarch TOWER is on on the Lockplate tail for the Tower of London arsenal.The brass furniture has a nice old mellow patina.The stock is in fine condition no cracks with a nice deep burgundy color to it. The lock works very well two strong clicks.The ramrod and sling swivels are present.This 9is the standard arm of the British forces all through the War of 1812 and the many Napoleonic and other Colonial Wars.A very nice example of a historic arm that belongs in every antique gun collection.Shipping will be $65.00 in the lower 48 States Thanks!
