Description:
This is a Swiss M1864 Sharp Shooter’s Saber Bayonet with a unsharpened 20 3/4 inch yataghan blade, marked ricasso Gebr/Weyersberg/Solingen and is in excellent bright condition with a small area of freckling on one side. It has a lightly oxidized steel guard with excellent checkered leather grips held with 5 rivets, ending with a brass pommel marked 35, 210 and 267 with signs of use in the field. Accompanied by a very good to excellent, mildly scuffed leather scabbard with brass ends having a leather strap hanger which is incomplete. Extremely rare bayonet, it was made from 1864 till 1871 in very small number.
