Description: Antique M1912 US Army cavalry and field artillery stirrups for McClellan saddles, marked US A.G.S. & Bros, this was M1912 a large knife-edge stirrup that replaced all other metal stirrups by 1914 and became the standard till the M1938, there was a M1916 that was a direct copy of the French officers model but they were made in very limited numbers. This pair is in very good original condition with light surface corrosion. The original makers stamping on bottom is still visible but light in some spots.
