Description: Guns Listing ID: 642199 Presented is a scarce 6” nickel Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector I-frame chambered for the .32 S&W cartridge. This revolver is a 1st model, produced from 1896-1903 with 19,712 pistols made total (Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson by Supica/Nables). Serial number 3291 places this example towards the beginning of production. The 1st model Hand Ejector is Smith & Wesson’s first attempt at having a swing out cylinder, which would revolutionize the revolver world forever and become a standard for most successful revolvers going forward. Numbers match on the barrel flat, cylinder face, and on the bottom of the grip. It is very common for the nickel finish to flake due to how the finish was applied on these early pistols. Condition on this example is simply outstanding. The finish is excellent overall with some flaking occurring near the muzzle and minor flaking on the right side of the frame. There are some scratches on the left and right side of the frame. Hard rubber grips show wear in the checkering but are otherwise excellent with no cracks or chips and are very well fit. Bore has scattered pitting and still retains strong rifling. Functions excellent mechanically with a nice, tight lock up. C&R firearms are sold as collectors’ items only, with no representations to their safety to shoot or use.
