This Winchester M-70 Cal 308 Win, Featherweight was mfg abt 1952. It is in excellent overal condition. The gunbluing is abt 98% w/ the correct rear flip sight and the original front sight hood.
98% w/a bright shiney barrel that measures "0-". The floorplate and trigger housing are also excellent.
The muzzle shows no edgewear and is perfect. The bolt (See Pic) shows no powder residue. This beautiful Win M70 shows very minimal use.
The Buttstock has a nice swirling mix of some lighter shades of a mix of Medium Dark Walnut w/a nice semi-gloss - It looks to me like more like the French & Belgium walnut tones that is reminisent of the "Super Grades" w/excellent & perfect checkering. The buttstock is to me abt 98-99%. The forearm is abt 95-96 %
This being a "Featherweight" it has a both Aluminium Butt Plate and a Floorplate w/no edge wear and shiney hinge edges (Commmon to most of these Featherweights)& a nice clean aluminium Trigger Hsg w/no wear areas. It is an all original & well preserved firearm.
The action is very tight and smooth. This Winchester M-70 has had excellent care & very minimum usage throughout it longivety.
It comes w/a Nikon 3 -9 x 40 MM Scope ( It appears LNIB condition).
This very nice Winchester M-70 should appeal to both the very discerning collector and huntsman. I would rate it as an "NRA Excellent"
