"Serial number 61805. Made in 1856. 36 caliber with a 7 ½" barrel. This is a US navy contract gun. It has both the “US" marking on the frame and the “USN" on the butt. Very nice sharp gun with no original finish, but nice sharp edges and clear markings. The butt has the “USN" marking and the grip is marked “I/ SCR" which was for Commander Stephen C. Rowan. Very good example of a Colt 1851 Navy Navy!
