Description:
Early 1600 serial range. 24 inch octagon barrel in the original 44 WCF caliber with full length mag tube. Excellent bright shiny bore. Beachs combination front sight missing the center post and a sporting rear sight that has been modified a little. Complete with an early 62 series "Popsicle Stick" flip up tang sight. Special order set trigger that works. Metal is very nice with about 75% overall blue. Sharp corners and good markings. Crisp tight action. A scarce gun with the raised thumbprint dust cover. Some traces of case color remain in protected areas of the lever with a little still visible on the hammer. Walnut stock and forearm are in fine condition with a rifle style buttplate 4 piece cleaning rods are included. Comes complete with 2 Factory Letters of Authenticity as well as a 5 page Letter from George Madis. A very nice honest early "Gun That Won The West" 1873 Winchester
