On Hold Sale Pending US Model 1843 Harpers Ferry Formerly flintlock later converted to percussion approximately 70 caliber smooth bore. This musket was converted in the 1850s apparently by the H&P method and later shortened for use as a Fowler. The length is 55 inches with a 40 inch barrel. The functioning lock is marked US with the American eagle and Harpers Ferry dated 1843. All metal parts have a dark brown patina with some pitting near the nipple. The left flat of the Stock is Marked JAS and some other letters and 30 on the but stock. Feel free to contact me with any questions .
