S A L E P E N D I N G.......WW1 NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATED.... BISLEY COLT REVOLVER...C&R....LAYAWAY ????....SERIAL NUMBER 317471 BARREL 5 1/2" CALIBER 38-40 WCF MANUFACTURED 1911. Blue and case color finished Colt Bisley Revolver with checkered hard rubber grips with Rampant Colt monograms. Gun is marked with British proofs as well as "A" above serial number and stamped "N.P.P." on butt. Comes with factory letter verifying current configuration showing pistol Vwas shipped June 30, 1911 to Witney Sporting Goods Co, Denver Colorado as well as a undated typed letter stating that "IN 1915 BISLEY SERIAL NUMBER 317417 WAS IN AUSTRALIA AND DURING WW1 WAS IN THE HANDS OF THE NEW PLYMOUTH POLICE OF NEW ZEALAND" Letter is signed MAJ, H.H. Wells Ret.
CONDITION, Very Good with revolver retaining 30% blue finish with areas of mottled patina, The case colors have faded to silver with some in protected areas. The grips are very good, full sized and without distress. The action operates properly. The bore is good with strong riffing and some roughness in the grooves.
