This Winchester Model U.S. Rifle M1 Garand is a right hand semi-auto U.S. Military rifle in .30-06 Sprg. Cal. It has a 24 inch barrel. A blade front sight with protective sides and an adjustable aperture rear sight. The butt stock is a smooth grip hardwood pistol grip. The forearm is a smooth grip two piece hardwood. Receiver Serial Number 2372241 (1943). Barrel is stamped m 9 and has a W with a line under it in an oval. Top of the bolt plate is stamped 28287-IW.R.A. There are 4 dots in front of the aperture sight. Left side stock is stamped WRA over GHD in a square and has what looks like the Springfield Armory crossed cannon barrels. .30-06 Springfield
