Description:
This Late Post War (1920s) semi-automatic pistol is a Waffenfabrik Mauser Oberndorf Bolo ("small frame") Broomhandle chambered in 7.63X25 and manufactured by the Mauser Company of Germany. This pistol, known as the Broomhandle, was one of the first successful semi-automatic designs produced. It is marked on the right side of the frame WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A NEKAR and MAUSER on the left. The pistol is serial numbered 569970 on the frame, hammer, grip tang, and hammer assembly. The bolt is marked 0475. The well-worn wood grips have 7 grooves. It has been import-marked on the barrel. The upper left flat of the barrel and the bolt/firing pin handle are both marked with a commercial "Crown/Crown/U" proof. The hammer bears the "NS" New Safety marking. The gun has been used and shows some pitting where the left grip adjoins the receiver. The right side wood grip is noticeably cracked at the base. It has the lanyard loop at the base of the grip tang, but is missing the ring itself. The bore is gray and shows very little rifling remaining. 7.63x25 mm
