Description: Serial #1521, .28 Caliber Cup Primed Cartridge, 3 inch octagonal ribbed barrel with a near excellent bore that is bright with strong rifling and some small patches of roughness. This is the Connecticut Arms company pocket revolver manufactured in the mid-1860's featuring a front loading cylinder with a hook type ejector to compete with the Rollin White – Smith & Wesson controlled patent of bored through cylinders. The antique black powder cartridge pistol is in near excellent condition with generous amounts, perhaps 55-60% of the original high polish blue on the cylinder and barrel with patches of freckling now toning to plum-brown. The brass frame shows trace amounts of the original silver wash and the hammer has muted hints of the original case color with some wear around the hook ejection holes on the cylinder – typical for this type of mechanism. The rosewood grips are solid and in near excellent condition with light scratches and use marks. It functions well mechanically with tight lock up and crisp trigger pull. It is sighted with a half moon blade in the front and fine notch in the top of the hammer. Marked “CONN ARMS CO NORFOLK CONN" on the barrel top and “PATENTED MAR 1ST 1864 / PATENTED JAN 16TH 1866" on the cylinder. This is a rare gun only having approx. 2700 built. Antique.
