S O L D .........NEW PHOTO......ICONIC MODEL 1841 US "MISSISSIPPI RIFLE".....HF Civil War...LAYAWAY?......Lock stamped Harpers Ferry 1848 with Eagle and US. These were made from 1846-1855. Made with 33" barrel in 54 caliber. Iron was finished in the white and mounted with brass furniture, distinctive large brass patch box on right side of full length walnut stock with brass tip ram rod and repro sling. This rifle has not been altered to .58. Retaining springs are blue. Left side of stock has inspector stamp. CONDITION. Wood is near excellent with few chips at upper tang. Iron has turned a lovely plum. Brass in toned.Bore has VERY STRONG rifling.
It is somewhat dirty and rusty. No large
