SPECIAL ORDER 1894 TAKEDOWN RIFLE WITH HALF OCTAGON BARREL AND HALF MAGAZINE, .32 WS CALIBER, TANG SIGHT, #583XXX, MADE 1912. A really nice special order 1894 that retains fine deep blue on the barrel and short mag tube. The receiver shows fine blue on the sides with normal top/bottom and edge wear. Exc. stock with better than standard grade walnut- typical of special order rifles in which wood was selected to be of a higher quality than that used on standard production rifles. Exc. forend with barely a half inch age crack beginning at the left side of the forend cap and going nowhere- minor and hardly worth mentioning. Fitted with a Lyman tang sight with small folding aperture intact, folding rear barrel sight and a Marble No.5 short blade/bead front sight (No extra holes hidden under the tang sight and the tang has all the bright blue underneath). Tight action, takedown and tight wood to metal fit. Bright, excellent bore. Really attractive. $2450.
