About Us: I am a retiree with a collection of nice firearms accumulated over a period of 15-20 years. Increasingly, I am aware that I can't take them with me, so have decided to sell them over the coming months. My description of each weapon will be as accurate as I can make it, and I will attempt to show any defects in photos. I will not sell a firearm that is functionally defective in any way. If you have questions, I look forward to your call or email.

Description:
This Oberndorf-made Mauser was manufactured in 1900 by Mauser in Germany. It comes ready for iron sight military rifle competition shooting with a Pram rear peep sight and an Elit Front globe sight. The globe sight comes with an assortment of ring bead inserts. Attachment of the front globe sight requires the removal of the front sight blade. I am including a new front sight blade in case the buyer wants to return the rifle to it's original state. All serial numbers match with the one exception of the front ladder sight and there are no import marks. Most Swedish Model 96 rifles (around 500,000) were produced by the Carl Gustaf factory in Sweden. Only around 50,000 were made by Mauser Oberndorf in Germany. The only difference between the two, that I can see, is that the German made Model 96's stocks were slightly more streamlined. This rifle is in very good condition and the bore is a little dark but still shiny with strong rifling. We see in this this stock an excellent example of the fine workmanship the Swedes put into stock repair. The Swedes were ahead of their time when they developed the 6.5X55 round. Today, the popular 6.5 Creedmore is a modern version of the 6.5 Swede. In terms of performance, they are basicly equivalent rounds. Five stripper clips are included for rapid reloading.

The buyer pays $60.00 for insured UPS ground shipping in a hard plastic gun case anywhere in the lower 48. FFL is required.
