Often overshadowed by the M1 Garand, the 1903 was still a force to be reckoned with, boasting high accuracy and a robust action that could rival its contemporaries. This particular rifle is in very good shape save for the holes on the left side of the rifle, most likely one of its previous owners trying to mount a scope without drilling and tapping the metal. Its unfortunate that this occurred to the original stock, but with a "P" cartouche underneath the trigger guard and the Springfield Armory cartouche next to the "RLB" it is still a very interesting piece of history worth showing off. Perfect for collectors to display in their collections, reenactors, or for milsurp collectors to shoot to get a feel for what it was like for Marines on Guadalcanal.
