AMERICAN HUNTING/HOMESTEAD LONG RIFLE
Here we present an antique Jacob Spangle Long Rifle, made circa the mid-19th Century in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. Its maker marked, very heavy octagonal barrel is in .44 caliber, large enough to take small to medium sized game or to defend the homestead against unwanted aggression. This one features a striped maple stock with an engraved, thumbnail-shaped patchbox. Crescent butt plate of brass. Double set triggers.
The overall condition is very good. The action remains strong. The double set trigger must be set for the hammer to cock. The bore is in good shape for age. The stock has nice grain and remains solid.
