PAIR BALKAN PERCUSSION .64 CAL. OFFICER’S PISTOLS W/ ORNATE FLORAL WIRE INLAID STOCKS CA. 1850’S. Nicely made pistols in the fashion of British Officer’s pistols of the period. They even have false London proofs at the breeches of the barrels. Probably made in Prizren which is now the second largest city in Kosovo and was a famous gun making center in the 18th and 19th Centuries. 13” o/a with 7” octagon smoothbore barrels. Walnut stocks with ornate brass wire vine and floral inlay and fluted grips with brass butt caps and iron mounts. One pistol with old barely noticeable repaired hairline at wrist. Nice attic untouched condition with the original old patina. Original wood rods.
