It was June 27, 1874 at Adobe Walls on the Canadian River in the Texas panhandle where young Billy Dixon and 27 Buffalo hunters were suddenly surrounded by more than 500 Kiowa and Comanche warriors. The Kiowa medicine man told the warriors that his medicine made them invisible to the bullets of the white eyes. When Dixon fired his Sharps sporting rifle and knocked a Kiowa from his horse at 1538 yards (7/8 mile), the Indians departed with haste. It was also widely used with great and devastating effect on the seemingly endless herds of buffalo by the frontiersman of the era. Reproduced with fine attention to detail the Armi Sport Billy Dixon is true to the legend. This 1874 Sharps falling block single shot rifle features a 32" octagon barrel with a walnut stock making it a practical shooter for hunting or recreation. Regardless of why you need one, or maybe you just want one, the Cimarron Firearms Armi Sport Billy Dixon is an excellent addition to your collection. .45-70 Government SOLD Metal Condition: Excellent Wood Condition: Excellent Bore Condition: Excellent Barrels: 32" octagonal barrel Triggers: Double set triggers Stock Dimensions: 14" length of pull Fore End: Checkered fore end with silver German cap Butt Pad: Case-colored steel crescent butt plate Weight: 13.2 lbs Sights: Blade front and adjustable rear sights Item Location: Boise, ID |
