Description:
Pre-War first gen. Colt Single Action Army .38 special revolver manufactured in 1940. Frame, trigger guard, cylinder, and grip straps are all matching. Accompanied by a factory letter indicating shipment as a blue .38 special 5.5" barrel gun sold to Kelly How Thomson Company, Duluth Minnesota, and sent to Marchion Hardware Company, Anaconda Montana in a shipment of 1 sent January 18th 1940. Condition is very good overall with blued components showing a few areas of wear. Frame retains  good case coloring all around with some areas of wear. It has a mirror bore. Action is crisp as new. This is a scarce firearm being it was the last year of the 1st gen single action army and only 849 being manufactured in 1940 and somewhere around 4-500 colt singl action armys of the 849 were sent to the British during World War 2. it is a .38 special with a factory letter and is a Montana shipped Colt. One of the last first generation colt single action armys ever made.
