A very unusual, high quality 20th Century named percussion rifle, with an inlaid gold color name on the right side of the barrel: Theresa M. Polowy, and the other side has inlaid : Torrington , Conn. According to records she was a language professor and dies young and this cusom gun was made for her. The 32" octagonal barrel fully engraved, and the metal parts are heavily coated in black aplied raised finish, possilby baked on? including the lockplate. The action works wwell as does the set triggers. Nosecap looks like pewter and the furniture is polished and engraved brass. Comes with a hardwood ram-rod, and LOP is about 15". The bore is clean with sharp rifling and is 45 caliber, Overall a conversation custom made percussion rifle.When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
