SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1868 TRAPDOOR .50-70 GOVT. CAL. RIFLE. All original and as issued except cleaning rod which is a correct type replacement. Breechblock dated 1869. Receiver and barrel serial numbered in the 4xxx range and matching. Excellent markings and three very crisp Inspector’s cartouches on the left side panel. Very good overall with nice uncleaned attic patina and the original finish on the stock. Forend with light dents on right side forward of lock plate. Working order and fine bore.
