WINCHESTER 1885 LOWALL HIGH GRADE .22 LONG RIFLE SINGLE SHOT RIFLE, NEW IN BOX. These gorgeous rifles were made some time ago by Miroku for Winchester and have U. S. Repeating Arms markings as well as the Winchester marking. The U. S. Repeating Arms Company that took over Winchester was in business from 1981-1989. During this time they marketed this beautiful single shot in several grades. This is a "High Grade" example that shows two gold squirrels on the right side and three gold bunnies on the left side- all with oak leaf and scroll engraving around the animals with additional gold outlining and some scroll engraving on the upper lever. The highly figured walnut is oil finished with sharp checkering on the wrist and forearm. The forearm schnable tip has the classy and traditional ebony wedge inlay as did the originals. The barrel is half octagon and measures 24". The upper tang is factory drilled and tapped (with filler screws) for a tang sight and the receiver ring and barrel are similarly factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting. the barrel is mounted with a traditional buckhorn and blade/bead front sight. Nice, crisp and light trigger pull. With the original box, owners manual, lock etc. This is a stunning single shot.
