Description:
LATE PRODUCTION 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE IN HARD TO FIND .32-20 CALIBER, #957XXX, MADE 1926. It seems the .32-20 was more popular in rifles than carbines as they don't seem to show up very often. I must see twenty carbines in .25-20 for every one in .32-20. This example has all the correct late barrel and tang markings. the barrel and mag tube retain most of the deep blue with excellent markings and correct ladder carbine rear sight with slide intact. Typical of 1920s vintage lever Winchesters, the receiver has mostly flaked to silver/gray with some good blue in the protected areas around the saddle ring and deep blue on the loading gate and bolt. Excellent screw heads, excellent stock and forend with tight wood to metal fit, bright excellent bore with any corrosion about non-existent. Tight action with strong half-cock on the hammer. Hard to find caliber carbine.
