Description:
Shillelaghs are traditionally Irish fighting clubs. The wood was smeared with butter or lard, and placed up a chimney to cure, giving the shillelagh its typical black shiny appearance. They can be the length of a walking stick. This one however is more a bludgeon than a walking stick. A unique piece of folk art. It has a heavy knob for a head carve to look like a fearsome fighter which can be used for striking as well as parrying and disarming an opponent. This one is just such a stick. It has no cracks and just a little bark chipped off. Perfect for you arming an old Irish Civil War veteran or Deadwood saloon owner. 17 inches long.
