Here we present an antique Hopkins & Allen XL No. 4 Spur Trigger Revolver, made in Norwich, Connecticut circa the 1870s-1880s. This revolver features 5 shots of .38 Rimfire. Hopkins and Allen produced dozens of pocket model revolvers, many not even marked with the company's name. While Colt and S&W owned the top end of the American market, H&A seemed focused on making their products within reach of the working man. Most of their best work was reserved for Merwin Hulbert & Co., whose revolvers they manufactured under contract.
The overall condition is very good. Original nickel finish. The action is excellent. The bore is in nice shape with strong rifling. The grips show use and remain solid.
This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction.
