This gun is in excellent condition with 95% of the original / period Tinned finish. Grips are very good and have been lightly cleaned. Grips are very fine condition with visible cartouches on both sides. This is a double rarity with as being both a “fluck" dragoon and a tinned finish gun. The “Fluck" dragoons are actually 2nd US contract and were discovered by the collector Jonathan Fluck who assigned the serial range 2216-2515. The gun is also Tin finished. There are a handful of tin plated guns known that are all US Martial guns and several have had naval inspectors. It has been speculated that these guns were tin plated because the Tin plating would protect the guns better in the Salt air. This gun comes with a binder of documentation including a letter from Arnold Marcus Chernoff who was a legendary collector and dealer. SOLD Antique: Yes |
