"U.S. Springfield Trapdoor .45-70 caliber rifle. Trapdoor looks to have been put together from parts of other trapdoors. Rifle is overall in good condition. Lock plate is dated “1863", you would normally see these on a 2nd Allin conversion. Breech block is early style. Barrel has a dark gray patina with a Buffington rear sight. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Stock has been refinished with minor handling wear.
