"U.S. 1886 Experimental Trapdoor .45-70 caliber carbine. This is one of the 100 experimental carbines made for the U.S. cavalry. Rifle is in overall excellent condition. Stock has been lightly sanded. Barrel has an even brown patina. Bore has strong rifling. Carbine still has case coloring on the breech. The Buffington rear sight has the “XC" on the top right. A must have rifle / carbine for any U.S. military collection!
