Early long wrist (serial number 58,441)!US Springfield 45-70 caliber trapdoor army rifle. The lock is Marked US Springfield 1873 with the American Eagle. The high arch breach block is marked US Model 1873 with the eagle and crossed arrows. The correct early rear sight is held by slotless screws. The full 2 band dark walnut stock has a unit or rack number on the left side, both cartouches are present but worn from wear along with numerous dents and dings. The full length 32.5 inch rifled barrel bore is clean with good but worn rifling and some pitting. It also has the small vp eagles head proof marks. The rifle is complete with sling swivels and ramrod. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Both lock and breach block function fine.
