Description:
Cooper was known to be an active gunsmith in New York City area in the 1840’s and 50’s. Gun is an 8 gauge with 42 inch barrels. Back action locks are nicely engraved. Both sides are marked H.T. Cooper. Barrels retain a considerable amount of the original twist pattern. The fixtures are nicely engraved German silver. Wood is nicely checkered. There are a few mars and dings but no splits or cracks. Complete with a huge buttplate. Gun weighs close to 15 pounds. This is quite a gun!
